Grew broccoli once years ago, it ended up full of little white worms. That ended it for me and broccoli.
I use them in stir fry dishes. Leaves too. Yum!
It's popular salted and eaten raw or turned into kimchee or sweet pickled and preserved. This is how its typically cooked in Japan.
That looks yummy. I also like it sliced into thin sticks and soaked overnight in a 50/50 mix of water and rice wine vinegar.
I had one (of three) look really sickly last year, so I dug it up. I didn't get the entire root, and it tried to come back. I'll see if it comes back this year.
Kimchi is a great idea. I've been fermenting sauerkraut lately and would like to try my hand at making kimchi too. Thanks for the idea.
I put it in one of my raised beds, then put a row cover on to keep the birds out of it.
The one I bought last year was from Gurney’s. I thought I’d take a shot and called them and they, without any resistance at all, agreed to send me another at no charge even though I was a couple of weeks past their guarantee. I always seem to see negative reviews of them but my experience has been good. In the past they’ve send incorrect items replaced with the correct ones and let me keep the errors. Once they actually sent a duplicate order and just told me to keep it.
