What did you do in the garden today?

Interestingly, I only knew one highly allergic kid ( my friend) when I was a kid, what is amazing is, that now she is getting older, she can eat nuts which would have killed her before 🤔 I usually send her some stuff for Christmas, and cookies to her parents, this year was the first time ever she was allowed to try the cookies 👏🏻

My 6 younger Breese/Cornish X hen x Isa Brown rooster bloodline chicks are heavier than my one-month older Red Star hens, but they are still being chased around by my 6 Red Star hens. However, this is about to change since the 3 younger mixed cross roosters have started baby crowing and trying to jump on their 3 sisters.

I think my Red Star hens will start laying by end of February.

Turkeys were all a Twitter looking at an extra extra large planter laying on its side. There was a coyote hiding in there. I think there was something wrong with her, because when I came back with the gun she was still there. Or she was so used to people...or how many times had she been there and not noticed.
Maybe the chickens will quit disappearing.

Alpaca update - I'm loosing #1. He hasn't eaten or had anything to drink in two days. He's comfortable, and not in pain. He's just slipping away.
#2 isn't trying to get up anymore, but he's also bored. Still eating and drinking. I'm not seeing him recovering, but will give him some time.

The others, and those above 2, just had the last of their treatments. I put a fence up around #1 (#2 is in a stall inside) to keep one of my big males from molesting him. The remaining 4 are out to pasture. All of them are a tad wobbly. I don't know if I got to them in time or not, time will tell.

This SUCKS.

Terrible to go through. I'm glad #1 isn't in pain. I pray they pull through

If you ever have (lots of ) extra money, the stihl ms 201 is the best money can buy! I was lucky to know someone who owns it ( he has a landscaping company) it is the most powerful chainsaw , not at all heavy for a chainsaw and goes through all kinds of wood with ease.
We've got a Stihl Farm Boss. It's our FOURTH one... The previous 3 were all stolen. 😑 Our current one gets locked down like it's holding codes to the nuclear football. 🙄

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's been a huge uptake in allergies in the last few decades? When I was growing up it seemed almost nobody had allergies, now it seems like everyone does.
My personal opinion is that a primary driver of the uptick in allergies, eczema, etc is all the artificial and toxic chemicals in our food supply, clothing, soaps, makeup, and cleaning supplies... Most people don't look at a label or even understand half of what is in an ingredient list (or how it was processed).

I am with your view @TJAnonymous

Many things around us all have chemicals. Many health reports say that such chemical is below the limit so it is not harmful. The many things we use/eat in a day all add up to the harmful amount.

I suddenly become allergic to many things these last few years.

Awhile back it was on the news that backyard chickens people are at risk of lead contamination from eating their backyard chicken egg because the soil in our backyard are contaminated with lead.
Some people have their soil tested and found that to be the case, they end up grow vegetables in a garden bed with soil they got from the garden shop. I wonder about those soil as well.

Then some people's garden vegetables all died off, it turned out the mulch they got was sprayed with chemical and so...etc..

We might live a sick long life, we have the medical to keep us alive, but not healthy or we might avoid some ill health.

I remember a LONG time ago when John Travolta's son Jett had his initial, major life-threatening medical event. Long before he died... Kelly Preston (Jett's mom) came out publicly about all the chemical exposure our bodies are facing. Like literally in everything... Our food, water, air, soil, clothing, furniture. You name it. I remember her saying they no longer wear their shoes inside the house because of fear of tracking pesticides and other chemicals into their home. She was essentially alluding to her son's medical issue being caused by chemical exposure. At the time, I thought this woman was bat$*-t crazy.

I no longer think she was off her rocker about that subject at least.
