What's the temperature where you are???

It’s below zero this morning down in the bottom of Redstreaker Holler in waaaaaaay-Southern Ohio. The girls got up a little late this morning but they’re all hanging out in the run now. Scrambled eggs ar cooking for them and they’ll have some sardines before bedtime as it’s going down to -13° tonight.

7 F in Southern West Virginia but feels like -6 below zero

Fortunately I have a pet door because my back door is frozen shut

I'd never fit through a pet door, so I'd still be trapped! :D
This cold is NUTS ... and we're not done, yet!

Great idea, I have done this also, and they loved the floating bits of ice to peck at.
Frozen grapes and blueberries are fun to peck at, too. Frozen peaches? Not so much. They make a nasty mess when they finally thaw! Lesson learned!

My gang loves peaches, any that the squirrels and Japanese beetles munch on I toss to the chooks - a huge hit eap with the beetles 😊

Can’t wait for Summer to see how my
Peaches do this year.

Finally warmed up a bit. It’s now -11C (12 F) and overcast. Blowing snow all day here and big trucks stuck on the hills unable to get up them due to the roads being icy. Salt is no use in this cold, so a mix of salt and sand is used here on roads.

Still under a snow squall warning, but the wind is all wrong for me to get lake effect snow squalls. thankfully!

Forecast low tonight of -16C and more snow…. I LOVE snow!

(Ya and I love getting up at 4am in the winter too….)

One of my baldies who are moulting, not to worry she comes into the feed-room at night where it’s warm 😉

Mine love peaches, too. I just don't freeze them for the water bowl anymore. When they thaw, they make a nasty, mushy, hairy-looking mess that makes you stare hard to make sure it's not alive before you try to scoop it out. Eeeewww!

Haha, I love the hen that rather smugly took over your chair!

For us the 4AM (and 3AM) mornings are during the hell months when we have to get up that early to do anything outdoors, e.g., coop chores. It's still hot, just not as hot as it'll be when the sun comes up.

I am decidedly NOT a morning person so that is torture to me. :sick
