What did you do in the garden today?

Love the rose! Is it an old/ antique rose or David Austin rose?

It's Pierre de ronsard, a prolific climber.

Weeded and cultivated with the tiller . Ran the weed whacker . Then it got too hot . Will go out again as it cools a little . Hit 90 today.

Watered, watered, watered. Very hot today and humid. The thunderstorms have missed us for the last several days and it doesn't take long for the ground to get really dry. Nothing like rain water to make the garden grow.

Harvested my turnip seed . Peas are filling out . Summer squash are growing nicely . Pumpkin and winter squash are up . Cantaloupe are coming up . The rains have missed us but tomorrow afternoon has a good chance .

Got wicked thunder storm last night shook the house, poor dog sat on my lap shaking. Just got Alerts for storm moving our way again tonight, never fails to hail soon I get all peppers planted. Still getting stuff dried out from last week rain.

Well today not much will get done, except clearing out the coop, into the one row we're not growing in now, it will go.

Yesterday I finished tilling the garden and removing most of the weeds, I got a rock hung up in my little Honda so I had to do the last bit by hand and hoe.

I use the top tiller to just rid the garden of the weeds because I do not like to disturb the nice growing substrate I've already got going. I till no more than 6" deep at the most.
We do have a few bantams loose on the yard and they scratch and help out a little, but they seem to concentrate on the barer end of the garden, not on the ends that actually
has an abundance of weeds. All help is appreciated in our garden.

We should be picking another bowl like this of cukes today

And probably a gallon of blueberries.

Our tomatoes are just starting to change colors, but I'll pull a large one for Fried Green Tomatoes tonight :)
