What did you do in the garden today?

I picked some green beans today, 2 pickle cucumbers and watered .. wishing some more of my tomatoes would turn I have got 2 so far this season 1 yellow and the first was a red but a worm or bug had a big whol in it so the chickens got it...I have tons of baseball to softball sized green ones might need to fry some

Picked almost two gallons of blueberries.

LAZYGARDENER: urine works good at keeping critters away-) Also give you reason for cocktail.

Tell that to MY coons! Nothing except a well placed electric fence will keep them out of the corn.

We picked 13 pounds of tomatoes
1/2 bushel basket of Sweet Banana Peppers
and 1 qt of string beans.

We planted Italian white, Coconut Ice, and Red SUn sunflowers in a few spaces we had to pull a couple failing plants.
It was just partial old packets we're hoping for the best

I hacked down the forest of plants, filled the beds with fresh compost and planted fall crops.

Planted the turnips and Daikon radishes for fall crop . Grandma always said 25 of July wet or dry for turnips but close enough . Picked more squash and cucumbers .

Watched it rain ... again ... day 3. Picked tomatoes and jalapenos. Found two watermelon started.

Ground is to wet to till. I need to get the fall garden in! Think I'll plant some oats or rye as well.

Since the gopher took out the zukes and is chasing down the carrots. I have 2 beds that need a fall replanting... What are some good fall veggies for the heat in So. Cal.
