My rabbits live in converted cubby houses. They are "cheap" (as in cheap imported materials, not cheap in price) prefab cubbies. One day a couple of pink and grey galahs decided to come and eat them. They came back several times and did a substantial amount of damage before moving on. I couldn't believe it. I have a pink and grey and she is nice, these 2 were diabolical. They had the nerve to look/"smile" at me with their cute little cocky faces while they were wrecking my bunny houses.

luckily the only plant-eaters here are chooks and snails and other bugs. i don't know whether 'varmints' would eat salvias.

Well it is possibly deer, rabbits or ground hogs, even turkey. We have them all.

We had some of those Rose-breasted Cockatoos at the Houston Zoo when I worked there. Nice birds. Always drew a crowd. Yeah they are pricey when you can find them here in the states. They have to be hand raised here as they are illegal to import.

They are native here. There are wild ones all over the place, as well as pet birds.

Maybe it's just too early for my brain to comprehend things , but I am totally lost after reading your post! First, I had no idea what a pink & grey galah was (til I saw the photo of the cutie below), then I'm trying to understand why they were wrecking your bunny houses! Are the houses made out of something tasty, or were they after your bunnies? Probably a dumb question, but now I'm curious...

They weren't after the bunnies, they aren't carnivorous. They MIGHT have been after some bunny salad, but I don't know how they would have known it was inside. I think they were just chomping on the timber to exercise their beaks or maybe they wanted it for nests . I really don't know what they were doing or why, all I know is that they damaged my bunny houses. They arrived early in the morning and my dog told me they were out there, eating the bunny houses. They came back for a few days for "breakfast".
