My mom kept one for about 3 years. (indoors of course)..
I usually take mine outdoors in the late Spring and plant in the ground. They expire when frost arrives. The following year, I do same with the Christmas Poinsettias again.![]()

I keep it inside in the winter but I put it outside around March and that’s where it stays all summer, only watering it when it starts to droop otherwise I just let the rain take care of it. I usually repot it in the winter and add rabbit manure to the soil, that and the occasional duck water are all the fertilizers I give it. Really the hardest part is overwintering them with enough light.
