What did you do in the garden today?

Large doses of allergy medicine are part of my regular diet and I really should buy stock in Scott Tissues. LOL! Yesterday was chilly and damp so I did shopping for wood for the outdoor brooder, new roosts and one additional raised garden bed. I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can work outside. It's supposed to be near 70F later today. I won't hold my breathe waiting for that. I am so glad I got most of the garden path area covered with mulch so I won't have to slog through mud. All my seedlings are doing well and "begging" to be planted. I will likely put them out either today or tomorrow. l still have plastic sheets available in case we get frost. I can't wait to get these chicks out of my house and into their transition brooder. They are soundly in the pig stage right now. They kicked their water over 5 times yesterday. I finally took it away at 9:30 last night. I think they wanted attention from me as I was busy with other things yesterday. This morning they looked like they doubled in size overnight. Luckily, still no signs they may be boys. Yay!

Hey Sarah...babies are the best! You could try raising the water dish. I used little brick pavers. Iffin you can keep it higher than they can scratch yet still get a drink. They grow so fast it seemed like I had to adjust it up every other day. I used to think mine did it on purpose too! That’s when I brought in a box of yard dirt for dusts baths kept them occupied...and nothing says cutenesses like them figuring out their first dust bath.
Too bad they don’t take mud baths lol!

I raised it up 4 inches and put a cardboard flap over to keep them from pooping in it. They just knock it over and then squawk. When I come into the room they get quiet. They figured out how to get my attention. LOL! Oh, and they've been doing the dust bath thing since they were 3 days old. I thought one was having a seizure, no, they doing the dust bath, in the pine shavings. I could give them some coarse and I guess. They're getting big so fast. When they stand tall they're nearly 12 inches already.

Got my lettuce and broccoli in and really just waiting to put my beans and tomatoes and other warm weather seedlings in!

I planted cherry tomato seed in the garden house. My eggplant has not sprouted yet but gave fresh watering. I also planted basil, cilantro, pumpkin, yellow squash, delicata, cucumber, green beans etc. today in the garden. It’s going to rain tonight. Hope it grows quick.

As is the gardener so is the garden.
Rows of surprises as each shoot rises.

My sugar snap peas are up. Hope they keep growing well. :fl:)

My chives are so confused by the weather one decided to bolt and go to seed.
:barnie
I wasn’t planning on it but wired one of my Poplars. The girls went digging! The tree is only one year old ... gonna be the first year of shade for the girls in that spot.
My other Poplar is already 10’.
My neighbors got a brand new John Deer front loader. It’s beautiful! Our neighbors are so great. She’s already asked if she can fill the rut out front :hugs
Car trips aren’t as fun as they used to be. I was really feeling it today.
