What did you do in the garden today?

I planted chicken salad seed for the hens essentially a cover crop mix for feasting in between bouts of showers and sunshine. Love the spring plants in bloom.

Took these photos during our road trip to the DMV. They call this place “A Cowboys Dream”. It’s built on a horse/cattle ranch. People from the city (Las Vegas) spend 400.00$ a night to stay at this bed & breakfast.
Can you believe it?
They take them on ATV’s and ride them around the ranch as part of the package. I thought my iPhone took good photos. As we wizzed by. On a clear day you can see into the next county.
It’s going to be warm today 60’s but wind is forecasted and more rain tomorrow.
At least the snow is gone....sorry @cavemanrich

Hi all :frow

I covered the ground in the garden with hay for the quail and to help mulch the plants, then watered. Had to rescue a couple of babies from inside the tomato cages again

Once the quail are gone I'll dig it all in this summer and let the chickens in for a cool spot in the afternoons. I think I'll be moving their waders in there too. Chickens are so industrious!

I still need to get the mini coop ready for the babies due at the end of the week. I'll have all day Thursday to do that and Friday hubs will make the roost.

Happy Monday everyone:)

What a crappy day. Every time I get a windows 365 update my internet quits working. Sorry, I just had to vent. Torrential downpours last night before bed, then thunderstorms early this morning and off and on all day. I think I made a good call not to plant tomato seedlings outside yesterday. Two of my hyacinths are blooming but one fell over from the pounding rain. I did manage to get half of the boards removed from an unused ramp to my potting shed. This frees up space for another 2 ft x 8 ft raised bed. This will be perfect for the pole beans this year. I'm re-using those boards for the raised bed so that cuts down on cost. The forsythia branches I cut a few days ago are blooming now. So pretty. The bushes outside are almost ready to bloom and my lilacs are budding and likely to bloom within a few days. I have plenty of allergy medicine on hand so I can enjoy Spring! I'll likely move the outdoor planting into this coming weekend.
