What did you do in the garden today?

Mischief managed. 38 lilies and phlox planted in the ditch. I have GOT to get these cells into the garden, but 4 inches of rain Monday and Tuesday. They're just going to have to wait until wednesday. I'll plant them and give them a good does of starter fertilizer. They're starting to suffer in the cells.

I have a few little things to get into the ditch too, like cleome, milkweed, wild pea, and monkey plant. I'll direct plant some dill down there too. Swallowtails love it.

It is HOT and humid here. Today was almost 90, with so much humidity that I was sweating less than five minutes after walking outside. Ugh.

My potatoes are flowering. I have gotten lots of strawberries from my potted berry bushes, but the bugs keep getting the patch I am trying to start in the ground.

I went down to the blackberry and raspberry patch today to check progess, and the honeysuckle has completely taken over. Last week, I cut the vines around the berry bushes but it has grown right back. That is all honeysuckle on the ground. It is climbing all over the berries too.

No gardening done yesterday. My oldest daughter and her family came over so the grandbaby could run through the sprinklers. Fun!

What's the ditch? Sounds like a not nice place planted with tons of flowers?

something attacked and ate my dill only a stub left

That is weird, usually everything stays away from my cabbage, except for tomato worms.

Same with my blackberry patch, pulled as much of that stuff as I could, but I think I just need a goat.

Good morning gardeners. Yesterday was off and on showers nearly all day. I separated my naughty, vicious hen from the others and the good hens seemed relieved. Despite the constant rain, the garden seems to be doing well. This morning I thinned the spring onions and turnips a bit. Then I re-seeded the pole beans. I turned the dirt and 2 of the older beans appeared to be germinating, so I planted more beans between the original spots. If they all eventually sprout I can just thin them out. So today they are calling for thunderstorms, hot & humid. Will just wait another day for mowing. Hi @WthrLady. I feel like I need to plant more flowers. I did plant some impatiens seeds a couple of days ago. Happy gardening all!
