What did you do in the garden today?

Good afternoon all,

Got outside this morning and decided to divide and conquer today. Igor took care of weeds out front and fixed the gate to the backyard. I cleaned out the coop and watered, pulled a few weeds and set out a few ant baits. Tomorrow we need to cut the grass and I should check on the compost tumbler too.

One of the oleanders was darn near dead, it's only been a week since I watered them. The soaker hose needs replacing so I'm going to test the spare I have in the shed. They rot in a couple of seasons here so we'll see. I'm giving the plant the day to perk up before I cut anything off...those things are tough. I might follow up and fertilize tomorrow for an extra boost.

Enjoy your evening all.

Spectacular lightning show last night. No rain. I have great photos, but they're on the phone.

Spent until 4pm at Swedishfest, and then came home and worked in the garden until 7 spreading the grass clippings. I'm halfway done. I'll finish tomorrow. The beans are already coming up. So the soil must me nice and toasty.

The squash are coming along. They need mulched as well.

5 ground squirrels down. Fox still out there.

That looks great! Are you going to put fish in the pond?

Thanks! It has been a shoveling adventure.
Since it is a tiny pond I got tiny white cloud mountain minnows for it.
They will winter inside in an aquarium. Safety first. :p

It rained a lot last night. It is supposed to rain for the next 10 days. (Maybe a cloudy day in there). But, at least temps look ok. 60s at night, mid 70s during day. Hope the plants at least like the weather enough to grow. Maybe the peas will flower. Hope the tomatoes are happy and not waterlogged.
