What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. Happy first day of Spring. Running a little late today. This morning was greeted by sticky wet snow that knocked out my satellite internet. It warmed up to 35F so enough has melted off the dish. LOL! I made a little progress on my new garden bed yesterday. I put down the cardboard liner and hauled 15 buckets (approx. 15 cubic feet) of dirt into it. It's a little wet, so it is definitely heavy. I have more seedlings coming up. All of the tomato cells except for one is coming up so I moved them out from under the plastic dome. There's my conehead cabbage, endive and romaine lettuce sprouting as well as the zucchini & crookneck squash. The tarragon is sprouting, but none of the others are up yet. On a side note, my African violet is blooming again. I really, really need to divide and re-pot that poor thing. I won't be able to do much work out of doors for today and tomorrow, It's supposed to rain and wash this snow away, then warm up into the 60's tomorrow and more rain. I should be able to haul more dirt when the sun comes out this weekend. So I'm on week 2 of my "stay at home" isolation. It's been nearly a month since my last grocery store shopping. There are a few things that I will definitely need within the next week: yogurt, I'm so craving pork, Kleenex and Town garbage bags. You have to buy the special bags for your household garbage or they won't collect it. Everything else I can buy online, these items necessitate a trip to the store. I wish I had saved the bubble wrap from my Amazon Prime deliveries. LOL! I checked the website of my local feed store and they're not 100 percent sure if they will be able to remain open. So I'm wondering if I need to get another bag of feed. Oh well. I'll figure that out. If at all possible, between rain showers, I'm hoping to at least cut the fence wire I am using to make the hoops for my cold frame bed. If I can get them cut they will be easy to secure and wrap the plastic sheeting to cover the bed. I could have fresh greens within a month's time. Yay! I'll take a picture when I get it set up. Hope you all are getting through this temporary insanity. Stay healthy and have a great day.

This is what the first day of Spring looks like in North Central Massachussets. At least it was at 6:30 this morning.

he wants to raise the roof also .. New green house fall or next spring already have all the starts in the first bay of the garage

Yesterday I got the garden area tilled , it is in a new location this year so I really worked it over good with the tiller . Its good soil so that's a plus . I also found the old irrigation line I had run out there years ago , it was about 2 hours worth of digging from where I thought it was :barnie

I picked up what I need to get the irrigation all fixed up and automated and I'll get to that this weekend . I need to pick up some reinforcement mesh to make some tomato cages also .

totally. I mean Rosie doesn't have a head. The chick doesn't have a head. Perfect family resemblance.

LOL.

Zero visibility fog again. Thunderstorms on the doorstep. Heading out in the dark to do livestock to avoid the rain. Hoping I don't surprise any skunks. Hoping weather breaks long enough today that I can check on the bees.

Neighbor lost a hive last week. She forgot to check them. The feeder had frozen and they starved to death.
I was thinking the butts... but no head works too... so... your seeing it is what your saying?!

Pretty tragic about the bees. So sorry :(
