What did you do in the garden today?

Wow @karenerwin , husbands ex-wife and her DH. That is fabulous and I absolutely love it that you are all adults and able to work through your junk (just a term).
My ex seems too self involved or guilty to be able to have a friendship with and my DH's ex is still stalking and has horrible behavior. Made the kids wedding lots of fun 🤦‍♀️. Best to just avoid all together. Too bad, we are on a small island... and sometimes his ex needs help and we can't because of her issues. My ex lost his second wife awhile back, would have been nice to have been supportive to him... So, I am happily envious of your situation. <3

@NewBoots , Ti leaf is used for blessings, warding off evil spirits, cooking, wrapping food or offerings (to the gods), medicinal, alcohol, hula shirts and leis, just to name a few in our modern day. A few hundred years back it was used for much, much, much more of course, like rain coats and sandals, light rope, weather proofing to name a few. It makes a wonderful landscape plant and potted plant and is just generally good luck to have planted at your home. Lore has it to plant Ki or Ti leaf in every corner of your property. Many hang on the bumper of their vehicle or boat or canoe or anywhere they want protected or blessed. It is an actual crop here. Though, my warm beach town is not prime location for it. Too sandy, salty and hot. Ti plant is a total thing <3 <3 <3

K. we are off and running to town to pick up a monitor for auntie and a C pap for DH and meet up with a chick customer for drop off of 3 chicks, along with our bi-monthly shop. Kauai's C19 numbers are still low but have gone up this last 2 weeks. ☹
I will be reading my Rcom manual on the way there as I will be firing it up for my first time tonight. I am excited and nervous and it is sooner than I wanted to but there are no domestics available on island and none in sight. It is time for Kea to step up and show us what he's got. He has been a pretty good boy especially for his young age. He spent his 4th night on the big girl roost and is totally excepted- they love having a roo around and he has been worthy of them.

Love, love the photos of your gardens folks. So happy to see and hear of your successes and harvests. Just darn pretty and fabulous. Please keep up the eye candy!

When I checked the traps several hours later, one had already sprung and I had a dead mole.
Grats! And how nice of your ex and wife to help out that way.
Bay laurel today nestled in the herb garden next to the dill.
Beautiful pictures Wee Farmer Sarah! I got my new bay laurel the other day, still not planted. I'm trying to decide if a big pot or in the ground is better.
Today is hatch day for the chicks!
Oooo! So exciting! Pics as soon as possible please. :jumpy
No clue what these little weeds are, but the flower is pretty - much more bright blue IRL
I have the coolest app, I just took the picture from the screen and it says that is White Mouth Dayflower. Oh and that it's a pretty invasive weed. Bummer, it looks pretty.

OMG I had no idea! What a massively useful and beautiful plant. That is so so cool! DP and I are both huge hippies and brought a small spirit house that we asked our last home to put a little of herself in so we could bring her here with us since there was nothing at all on this lot before we came. Um, did that sentence make any sense at all? Mean to say that I really get the respect and spirituality the Ti receives.

Good morning gardeners, just a light misting this morning so once I finish my tea I'll get on the watering. Planning on going fishing once the new aspen tree gets delivered. If the lawn dries out later I should get the mowing done either today or tomorrow. Messed up making the sausage rolls, they are still delicious but I made the mistake of following the directions for cutting them and they all fell over :). Just meant they aren't very pretty but still tasty. Have to make a note on the recipe. Oh and it turns out our neighbor closest to the chicken run is completely cool with our roosters, their bedroom is on the far side of their house and they are not bothered at all. 2 of the boys still have to go but we might be able to keep one so the auditions officially begin now!

Thanks for the help but it's a 300 gallon stock tank:

We probably only have algae in it cuz the perch were pooping nutrients into the water. We just added a pump and filter about a week ago and it already looks much better. It's been DP's project from the beginning, it was her idea to just cut the boards to size and jam them under the lip of the tank, and that worked much better than I expected. We added perch to kinda kick start the bio-cycle and give the plants something to eat. And the pump DP ordered is so powerful it makes a great splashing on the surface.
I knew I was probably talking out of turn LOL. That looks awesome! Ditto to the tilapia idea though. Plus you can eat them :)
