What did you do in the garden today?

Garden looks great! We dug up some white potatoes, although they really aren't quite ready - they were the last to flower.

Picked 2 or 3 meals worth of green beans.

The various melons are growing and now starting to see female blossoms, so I was out with my long handled cotton swabs to try to help pollination along!

My strawberries were looking like they were trending towards lite green/yellow again, so applied 12-12-12 and mixed it into the top layer of soil. They must be heavy feeders. Hopefully I did not over fertilize them!

Bought a lot of peat moss to add into the large bed that sorely needed amending this past spring. We will till it in, and then get ready to direct seed for the fall crops!

Its hot out there....not like @WthrLady hot temps though. But will be sunny, 90s and humid for several days.

Not 1 bear, but TWO!!
Holy moly that is terrifying!
I noticed the little striped squash bugs on the zucchini plant so I offered them some rosemary bits. Wow, did they scram out of there.
Just saw one of those beetles yesterday and I have plenty of rosemary so thanks for the tip!
@Acre4Me I am so sorry about the ones that stopped, so sad! On the other hand that floofy cheeked baby is so cute! How do all chickens manage to have that, "what are you looking at?" look in their eyes, no matter how small? and floofy?

Mowed yesterday so weed eating today, once the trimming is done I'll get the artichokes in the ground in the hedgerow. The late started stupice tomatoes are coming along, and I see the first sprout for those jerusalem sage has popped up so fingers crossed for the rest. Everyone have a great day!

I got the job!!

Aloha garden gang,
Only watering today. Nice little harvest of eggplant, pepper, beets, some tomatoes, mango, papaya and 4 eggs yesterday. Girls don't like the heat and humidity much at all and I don't blame them! I am grateful we all made it another day.
I fired up my incubator 2 eves ago. I am selling chicks I don't want to now. Repeat customer comes today to pick up a few for his dad... I'm such a softy, or idiot... not sure at this point. Well, guess that is the nature of the biz. That shifts a previous commitment to the 1 month olds and then a good friends son wants and I can't say "no" to her. BTW. The R-com is a dream. Humidity is a few degrees high during the hottest part of the day, 1-2 hours, but I am not going to worry about that for a bit. Also, electric went out for about 20 minutes yesterday, it is early in the hatch... so, not going to worry about that either. It is what it is...

Congratulations on the new job @igorsMistress. Don’t get too excited about the rosemary @NewBoots. I checked back later and those little bugs came back. Wah! Since it has been so cool and rainy here for several days I took the shade cloth off the cabbage. It’s about 85F and sunny, but they look ok. I’m in my backyard with the chickens now. The hens are searching for bugs and my rooster is conversing with the neighbor’s rooster. So relax.
