What did you do in the garden today?

Nothing today...or yesterday. Working stupid hours. Worked 12 hr. days Mon - Fri, Gotta work nights tonight. Thank goodness my retirement date is coming up soon.
Already have the garlic in the dirt. Some onions too and got another order of onion sets in the mail from Dixondale yesterday. Already have the spot worked up so will plant in a few days. Volunteer mustard already doing great and the lettuce pot coming along nicely. Will be working on carrots,The cabbages and winter peas soon as I get the time.

Howling windstorm following our major icestorm.
The opening of deer season was yesterday. Saw lots of great deer "napping" in the backs of trucks yesterday afternoon. Saw lots of deer on the run all day.
WInds last night howled to 50 all night with driving rain. I would not have wanted to sleep in a tree stand last night. But guys did. Heard shots ring out 30 minutes before sunrise, right on schedule.
Winds this morning howling again over 30 headed to 40.
Nothing by livestock care planned for today outside. Inside; still knitting up a storm.

Sister called to tell me people in central Ohio are hoarding again. Market is empty. Good grief.

Welcome back @TropicalBabies! @penny1960, OMG that pup is too cute to be legal! And @Sueby, those are cute pullets, they almost look like a flock of multicolored ravens. I think they are judging you. :)

The storms come and go and come back again, we got 4 inches of rain in the last 48 hours. The cupboards and freezers are full, my food hoarding tendencies have stood me in good stead, so we shouldn't need to go outside the property for quite some time. Good think too, our governor has ordered another shutdown for a couple of weeks. This is a pretty rednecky area so there will be lots more complaining about it but I'm not sure what else she could do. Fingers crossed for that vaccine.

I finally broke both nest box girls of trying to sleep in a next box at night. Here is a picture of them this last summer:

Silly girls, this was taken when they were both still laying.

Aloha garden gang,
So nice to wake up and not be sweating this morning- loving the cooler temps here!
No garden plans for me. I perked up for a second when i read that @Wolfie2 ordered onion sets though... hmmm ;)
Just going to enjoy the fruits for now with a little greens.
@NewBoots - nothing sweeter than a couple of pretty girls sharing :love
I am impressed reading about the canning and food stores. When I went to Costco the other day for my stores the shelves looked bleak. Everyone had the same thought as me... just a day or 2 sooner lol. Even chicken feed is getting dicey. Here we go again...:th:th:th:th:thI did buy my favorite TP, though we already had. Does that make me a hoarder?
So garden wise- I picked a few papayas and will juice a bunch of oranges today but the little-littles have control of my garden real estate for now. Can you spot my balded tomato starts to the right? No weed eating? It's all about the birds for a little longer...

I have 'stocked up' quite a bit myself. I really don't consider it hoarding since I didn't buy it all at once, lol. I always buy in bulk at BJs anyway, it's just cheaper. & I figure if everyone did that there would be no shortages when the time comes! (I can really justify anything I need to :gig)

But I've seen things getting harder to get here too. My freezer is full with the cow we bought earlier in the year, lots of chicken I've been vacuum packing & lots of chicken feed - I have 3 bags of it in the freezer. I figure we can feed the dog with anything we eat, but the chickens need a specific diet to provide eggs.

I hope it doesn't get out of hand, I'm not looking forward to that.

Spent day knitting away.
DH made some off comment, that sent us on a goofy discussion, which ended up with me seriously wanting soft whole wheat, bavarian pretzels. Well. crap.

SO .... I went ahead and milled this week's wheat and got the dough started. Well as long as I'm doing that, I may as well make this week's butter. I mean dang it. LOL.

Dough is on the rise, butter is in the icebox, and DH is out poo-picking. LOL.

@TropicalBabies adorable teenagers

ADORABLE puppy! Mine is laying here snoring. I have a hysterical video but cannot figure out how to load it here. Ideas anyone?
