Thank you for sharing your experience @jerryse . I don't know anybody personally who has had it but my brother lost a baseball buddy, a nurse friend and her father and my pasture neighbor lost her 46 yo nephew within 5 days of him contracting it at a bar on Oahu. I am thrilled that is not the case for all. I'm still staying out of the mix myself, my 88yo auntie who we are close to and help out would not survive.
I was thinking I would make the turkey and basics for TG and then make plates to bring to family and neighbors... but after seeing a few posts I think I may just do a big BBQ and skip the turkey- the chickens will be sad to not feast on the carcass... ok, small turkey. Then just do the stuffing, awesome greens, sweet potato and banana cream pie and/or pumpkin squares. Low kitchen heat. Sound so much more enjoyable than a big turkey bake. Thanks gang! You all have been rather helpful getting the hitch out of my giddy up!
