We’re getting a haze from it. Normally it would give me a hard time but the new steroids my doctor put me on for my asthma is working pretty good. I’m hoping the rain overnight will wash some of it out of the area.

Does anybody else think that the heat level on jalapenos varies dramatically from pepper to pepper? Seems like one will be so mild, and the next one will light me up---and I love spicy stuff. I don't really think.of Anaheims as being as spicy as most japs.I would have to agree @Sueby. They’re just a bit hotter than a jalapeño. Perhaps equal to an Anaheim which to me is quite hot enough.
Right there with you. No inhaler though, but my ears, sinus, head and throat, ya.The smoke from the wild fires out west is killing me today. Inhaler, sore throat, etc. Can't imagine being in the middle of it.![]()
I’m going with the heat of the locally available Anaheim vs jalapeño. I grow my own jalapeños but in the past when purchasing them in local grocery stores the green Anaheim peppers were always more spicy then the green jalapeños. Since growing them myself I have learned there are different varieties with different heat levels.Does anybody else think that the heat level on jalapenos varies dramatically from pepper to pepper? Same! Finally beat my DH though. I gave him chocolate habeneros from the store and he suffered horribly.I have the cukes draining as we speak!
You haven't met DH! He'll eat any pepper you give him, a habanero is nothing to him & I can't even touch it to my tongue. He's working on a bottle of Mad Dog 357 which is 1 million scoville.
Good tip on the peachy color=sweet. I'm going to try & find these peppers for next season.

The only pepper I like is a pickled jalapeno. Other than that I hate all peppers - especially bells! Hate the flavor. I do like the heat from them though, I love to lick my hands after cutting habaneros.I purposely don't wear gloves - even with the hottest peppers. I'm weird.
I have to wear gloves when I cut hot peppers because I wear contacts. Made that mistake only once. Couldn’t take them out without soaking my fingers and cleaning them for about an hour, & still burned my eyes.
