What did you do in the garden today?

I found this book when I was straightening up around the house. It has some very interesting ideas in it that I haven’t heard of before.
One idea was about using bugs you collect from your garden ( or field if you farm) and put them in a blender with some water. Then strain the results and dilute it and spray it on the garden (fields).
The original theory was that you gathered dying or diseased bugs and that whatever was killing them infected the healthy ones thus killing them as well.
But then they found out you could collect heathy bugs and eggs and it worked still.
One farmer uses this method with his 74 acres of peanuts and his 100 acres of soybeans.
They said for the average large garden a handful of bugs should be plenty to make the “bug juice”.
They also warn, “ In most cases where insect attack isn’t doing any real damage, it’s best to do nothing.”

Anyway, I found it to be very interesting.
The book is Copyrighted in 1978 I have a copy of the Eighth printing ( 1982)
"Good morning! Are you making breakfast smoothies?"
".... sure. They've got protein in them, too!"
I'm laughing at the endless possibilities for fun with Bug Smoothies.

I decided today was the day to prune the peach tree. Weather is 30s but occasional 40s already. So will start flowing soon so I wanted to get this done now. It's my first time pruning a fruit tree for health of the tree and production of fruit. I hope I didn't screw up too much... Well trying to shape it properly, I'm also trying to keep it from going into the neighbor's too much, off the netting over the chicken run and out of the way of the chicken run gate. With all that in consideration. I think I did a good job.

Heres a very short video of the tree after pruning to show multiple angles:

And here's two pics I took:

@WthrLady don't you an orchard? I would be interested in your thoughts on this pruning job and if there's anything else I should do.

I ordered some seeds and plants . So yes I am getting garden fever .
I've got it too, its a warm 40 out there, I took a walk by the garden & totally got me some spring fever! It's just a tease tho, we'll be in a deep freeze again before spring happens, no doubt.

I pruned a bunch of dill off my aeorgarden. The mint didn't come up so I planted more dill. The basil will go in pots this weekend for my sister & I will plant more thyme. Then it will all go outside for spring & I'll start new to have in the house for next winter. I like this thing, good present from the MIL.
