Ditto...ground is like a massive sponge! No puddles anywhere and we've had several inches over last few days.Rain is by and large missing us today. It's splitting up just to the west of us and going north and south. I don't think we'll even get a tenth of an inch today... I'm probably just being greedy nowbut I really wanted decent rain today. The ground has literally soaked up every single drop. I can't remember any time in the 2.5 yrs we've lived here that it's ever rained even half this much and we didn't have a river through the garden from the storm drain culvert runoff. Not this time... We've had 5 inches of rain and nothing is coming from the storm drain culvert because the ground is literally soaking it all up like a sponge.
Right now they are predicting more rain next weekend. I really REALLY hope they are right...![]()
Thanks. That was my fear. I’ll compost instead. It'll go slimy and gross.
I bet a lot of people would love a thread like that...I know I'd sure enjoy it!I am thinking about starting a separate thread called something like "Show Me Your Pallet Project Builds". I'm sure lots of gardeners on the BYC forum have made pallet projects for their gardens. I know I have. I have a few pictures to share, but more pallet projects coming in the future. Might be good to see other pallet projects that people have found to be useful. I'd be interested in any pallet projects and not only garden related.
Now I know why hubby likes weedingI’ve been off the internet a while. Nothing much happening in the garden. I did see a cartoon I wanted to share. I don’t know what the PC police are allowing, but I think you guys will enjoy it, so here goes.

Looks beautifulMan I'm so sorry! That's gotta be frustrating
I hadn't even got the raised bed built much less ready to plant my seeds that just came. Guess I'll just plant the small ones.
I'm really tempted to pull out the free cantaloupe or watermelon that decided to grow and take over my compost area. It has climbed the chicken run and going up the inside of their ceiling now! Completely insane. I wanted shade for em...sunflowers not cantaloupe/watermelon! Guess they don't care though lol!View attachment 3206430
