What did you do in the garden today?

Some of the tomatoes we canned have a bitter taste to them……wondering if it’s related to the species we planted or time they were picked/processed 🤔
I saute carrots, onions and celery then add the canned tomato sauce. The carrots especially will sweeten the sauce naturally without adding sugar If you want you can use an immersion blender to smooth out the sauce.

Garlic popping up.

All the bright white bits are egg shell fragments in the compost we threw on top in the fall.

I’m concerned we’re heading into a faux Spring. Everything gets warmed up and starts blooming then we get an icy blast of winter for several days to a week. I plan on pruning my peach tree down to where it’s easier to throw plastic sheeting over it when the icy blast hits us.
I'm concerned about the same thing

Garden? You mean that ugly patch out there with last year's weeds I never cleared or tilled? It's a mess! What did I do today in the garden? I looked out the window at it, sighed and scowled, then went back to my coffee.
Agree?? Can we mention how terrible rotting horseradish leaves smell?!

Nothing in the garden. I might go out tomorrow though and level the ground more around the greenhouse. It's a lot of work and then I need to build a raised bed in that area still. And speaking of raised beds, I need figure out how I'm filling the new bed and the added height I put on the beds I terraced like stairs. I dread having a pile of dirt dumped in the driveway and shoveling it up all day. The quality of the dirt is just that too - dirt. I haven't found a good garden soil in bulk around here. I might just fork out a little extra and get badged soil, but the timing is bad because we're already forking out on vacation this Spring. Maybe Uncle Sam will throw a little something extra in the tax return - yea... I'll keep dreaming.
