This bee 🐝 is face first into all the pollen. 🤣 All you can see is it’s little bee butt sticking up. ❤️

We’ve been seeing tons of wild poppies in bloom! 🥰
Tomorrow we go hiking in the Superstition Mountains!

I lost some leaves to frost on the fig tree. & then stupid me, did it again last night & didn’t cover it. 🙄 It ill be fine, but it’s going to lose most of its leaves.

I’ll have to check on the peach tree, the leaves are just starting to pop out, hopefully it’s ok.

Supposed to be crazy warm this week. The other night we had the ac on in the bedroom & the pellet stove was running in the living room. 😂

Good morning gardeners and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate. Taking it easier today. I did rake the leaves out of one of the herb beds earlier this morning. I'll do the other later. I reworked the new gardening areas in the back. I'll be planting the blueberry bushes on a slope in one row to help define the pathway and putting two large planting plots in the area we were cleaning up yesterday. The grape vines will also be planted on a slope facing mostly east and west. This will allow the maximum amount of sunlight on both sides of the arbors. I still need to find soace for more onions.

I'm pulling off the oak leaves and a little attached soil that we leave on the perennial beds to overwinter. If it's safe for chickens, I'm lining the bottom of my newly built coop with dried leaves. I'm hoping this encourages deep litter to compost since my coop doesn't have a dirt floor. I also cut down the hakonechloa grass and stuffed it in the laying nests. Brought some of it upstairs for the girls to play with in the brooder.

I left the coop doors open last night to let the leaves dry, and when I went out this morning there were robins in there foraging ;-).

We're finally having above-freezing nights and warm days here in upstate NY, so I think the 3WO chicks will be out in a 4 x 8 kennel crate with me this week while I'm gardening.

Good morning all. Happy Easter to those who celebrate. I went out to tie up the jasmine this morning and it’s already too warm to spray anything so it’ll have to be at the crack of dawn tomorrow. I had to come in and change into a tank top and get more water. We’re supposed to cool off by next weekend so the coop will have to wait until then. I have to get outside and dismantle the temporary fence around the plants now that I’ve locked the chickens out. I plan to put things in place so I can put up a temporary fence again this summer, the weeds will be back. Have a wonderful day all!
