I haven't had them in my Cukes yet. You must have a very heavy load.
Are you trimming the spent lower leaves?
Squash bugs are definitely intense here in southeast Georgia. Especially when the heat exceeds 95-100F and the plants get stressed. That's pretty much the case for most of our pests. They really take hold once the plants are stressed from the heat.
Sometimes I do trim the spent leaves. I usually tidy up plants on the trellises first. We gave away our cattle panel trellises though (I regret it) so I only have cucumbers trellised until we replace those again and a if I don't see the dead leaf I probably won't cut it. Out of sight, out of mind, lol.
