What did you do in the garden today?

My seedlings sit in water every day, on heat mats with lights. I don't know if I'm doing it "right" but my plants look amazing.
I wouldn't worry at all about water filling up the bottom tray, but that's just one opinion.
My pots are 3 inches high for reference in this photo.

Thanks for the reply. Like I said, I'm just learning a lot this first year of growing seedlings to transplant.

It depends on what medium you’re using. Some drain better than others and I would think it could be a problem. I would put them on a flat surface instead of in a bin, or drill a drain hole in the side of the bin so it can’t fill with water.

I am just using store bought potting soil for the net cups. As to the Hefty Hi-Rise storage bin, I use the lid as the tray, so the maximum amount of water that it would hold is 1-1/2 inches before it flows over the top. The clear top (bin) is used as a greenhouse on colder days. There would never be a time that the bin itself would fill up with water with plants sitting in many inches of water because the storage bin is used upside down for the plants.

I'm not at that point, by any means. This is supposed to be the last home for Dear Wife and myself. My concern is not the Air B'n'B guests themselves, but rather the increased traffic in our small neighborhood and just not knowing who should be here, or not. It's a change I was unprepared for and have not welcomed, regarding all the increased traffic of unknown people in our small neighborhood.

That’s sad when that happens. Was there any logical reason for that? Crowding the house? Or in the way of their chained dog?

I posted a few days ago that I bought some tree peonies for fall shipment. We had tree peonies in a previous house that we planted and waited for blooms for several years. Amazing and beautiful blooms. But wondered if the new owners kept them. The owners after us stayed there 4-5 years, then sold it, so the current owners have been there about 5 years. Google maps to the rescue. Street view shows us that the tree peonies are still there!

I am getting the impression that they are first-time homeowners with a renter's mindset...no interest in doing anything to make the yard look nice.

We rented for almost 30 years before we got our house, so I am not maligning them, just stating my opinion based upon years of experience.

The azaleas and hydrangeas were in full bloom, located along the front of the house, under the windows, not in anyone's way.

The dog is chained by the driveway in the backyard, I can see him when I'm in my front yard. He has a dog crate for a house. Poor pooch.

I'm happy your tree peonies are still there. Every place we have lived (rented) before buying our house I have created flower beds with perennials, low to no maintenance. And in EVERY PLACE WE RENTED someone converted my gardens to lawn.

It's spring here in Rochester New York along the shore of lake ontario. It's the season where everything is growing like a weed including weeds. Today I removed some aggressive grass turf from the garden that was growing into the flower beds put it inside a nursery tray packed it in well and gave it to the chickens. They loved it! I love watching them destroy the grass that is driving me crazy and they like the greens. I have a couple of these and I rotate them in and out as they denude them.

I have lived here for 35 years without any fence. I would really hate to see a need for fences. We live on a lake, on what used to be a resort, and putting up fences would just kill the vibe of the neighborhood. If it comes to that, then we might as well be living in town, I guess, where everyone has a fence put up against the adjoining property.

I'm not a lawyer. I don't know if an Air B'n'B is consider a commercial business. I imagine there is some loophole that they are taking advantage of.
