What did you do in the garden today?

Ditto with sad, wet, weather here, too. No snow, though, thank goodness. I don't know how it can possibly be Totally Foggy And Windy, but it is. Heavy Rain All day. The flock is hunkered down but they've had enough, too. They all had "disgusted with rain" Stink Eye expressions this morning. 😠 Like the bad weather the past few weeks is all my fault. Cut me some slack kiddos, I'm not thrilled with it either. 😒

I wonder if weather will be like on eclipse day? If so, a lot of folks that traveled & planned vacations to see it, will be quite peeved.

Fog, Rain & Wind...eerily weird!

We used to give ewes molasses in warm water after lambing to get their strength up
Last night we thought one doe was in labor…so we brought out some warming water with some blackstrap molasses. She sniffed and backed away. Surprising bc her textured feed seems to have some molasses in it, and they both seem to like it. But, turns out she wasnt in labor. Must be close, but no labor.

Today I've got arthritis doc appointment then traction at the chiropractor office. I am sore from caulking & filling nail holes on shoe molding at the jobsite yesterday, my knees woke me up 2am, despite good knee pads at work. This weather sucks with arthritis, hips & lower back killing me, too. Well, my tomato sprouts are very slow growing without sunshine, but at least they aren't keeled over, so that's good. I plan to set more seeds up today as weather has me stuck indoors.

My 6 chicks are growing feathers in now. They are precious. ❤️ I still have them set up in my bathtub, mostly because I just love hearing the peeping in the house. The next sunny, dry day we get, I can move them to my brooder room. Right now the bathroom is a nice 86 degrees. I start lowering the temperature about 5 degrees a week as they grow. Your human mama loves ya, you fuzzy little cuties. 😘

View attachment 3790174View attachment 3790175Baby chicks arrived!!!

3 breeds (2 color variations of one breed). This is replacement from August order. Only 4 survived the last shipment, and those are looking great now. This shipment included 27 chicks, and all arrived alive!!!! Yay!! Straight run, so some will be boys.
Precious ❤️
So glad to hear they all arrived safe & sound. The few times I shipped birds I was a nervous wreck 😅

I'm not going to lie. Your raised beds are the most awesome thing I've ever seen. Are those... Steel beams?! 😂 Holy crap that's the most expensive raised bed material I've ever seen! I love it!
Thanks, but I can't take credit for them. They were already in place when I bought the house. I believe they were repurposed from old mobile home trailer frames.

They are all pretty shallow, so I built wooden risers on two of the beds a year ago and added more soil to fill them. And I had to build cages around them because of the hungry deer.

Grey and gloomy!

We have a bee club meeting this evening. Because it's at 7pm and about 45 minutes away, we're going to make an errand trip out of it and have dinner out somewhere.

We have to pick up hubby's new glasses, and I want to stop at Flowerland to check out their potted plants. If they have Trumpet Vine, as the website says they do, I'll get some. They can take 3-5 years to flower, so I'll cough up the $$ to get a potted one that will bloom this year.

I'm also hoping, but doubtful, that they'll have New England Aster. My seeds don't look to be wanting to sprout at all. :(

When I cut out wheat my joints quit waking me up.

The one looking at the camera looks like a boy to me
