Beautiful day here. Raccoon dug up 2 of my persimmon trees. Found 1 and replanted it.Phoebe nest build. They use moView attachment 3795361View attachment 3795363ss as do Carolina wrens. Purple coneflower showing life but no seeds up yet.

I have a Carolina Wren who built a nest in an old flower pot on a shelf in my garage. This is the 2nd year in a row that she has done that... Last year she picked an old mailbox that was on the top shelf. Threw it away so she found a new spot this year.

Full eclipse here. My chickens were so confused. They were out free ranging. As soon as we were at full blackout, suddenly you see a huge mass of birds (I have 65 chickens) RUNNING across the pasture towards their coop...

Btw, my dehydrated eggs were a bust. I tried them in the oven at 170 for 12 hours because I didn't have any silicone trays to use in my actual dehydrator. They came out like a slab of rubber instead of something I could actually grind into a powder.

One year I went to use the funnel I use for diesel and there was a Wren nest. No eggs so I removed. I guess he was thinking the fumes would keep the mites away

Just past the most of the eclipse here. Almost 95%. Temperature drop was very noticeable.

It was! It was a beautiful sunny day & it got a little chilly for a few minutes.

Too funny! I was so curious to see what the chickens would do - they kind of just hung around outside the coop like they do for the half hour before it's time to go in but we were only at 93% so it didn't get very dark.

Mine were in the shade and came out during it and then back to the shade lol

at 85% there was no shadow and we barely got darker.
The sun was fun to watch though as I was working on a shelving unit.
The science equipment picked it all up though. It's darker now with a few clouds than the actual eclipse.

I planted a row of Green Beauty peas and some Red Baron onion sets today. And I turned the compost pile.

We watch the eclipse with glasses. It didn't get that dark, as it was only 94% coverage.

I've been using SeedTime to help with the scheduling of everything, and that was SUPER helpful.

I just found out about SeedTime last night. Are you using the free version? I don't want to get into $10 per month subscriptions or anything like that.

I remember when you bought software and it was yours. I don't like have to "rent" software by the month with those subscriptions.

BTW, there is an option to pay for life-time access for $500.00. I think Dear Wife and I could probably buy a lifetime or our garden veggies at the store for that price. Anyways, it's the free version or bust for me.
