What did you do in the garden today?

I would love to have all your extra rain, 80% of our trees suffer from drought damage 😰 there is a bug going around, burrowing under der bark, since the trees already have heat stress, they are more susceptible to that bug than usually, they had to cut down all the trees in our alley cos of that bug , they can topple without warning, they look good on the outside but are totally rotten inside 🤷🏻‍♀️
Of my 40 orchard trees, I have 12 left. Damn 3rd year of extreme drought

Several years. Also the sap is toxic so make sure it's not in hay. Animals will avoid it in the field. Caterpillars that eat it are toxic so they don't get eaten.
I moved a few over to my wildflower area. They did bloom the following year. Butterflies appreciate them, especially Monarchs. When my chickens are out & about ranging, they may meander over there to peck at a bit of some chickweed growing at the edge, but fortunately, the flock does not show interest in the wildflowers or the Swamp Milkweed. They ignore all fuzzy caterpillars, too. If you can, relocate yours to a sunny spot, away from the grazing of other critters.

My chickens and turkeys ignore milkweed. I pick the pods so it doesn't blow over to my cousin's hayfields.
