What did you do in the garden today?

I went to my kids house for my birthday and my daughter surprised me with this blinged up stump chair from our old country house in Colo. It's one piece cut cut out of stump from one of the old cottonwood trees there.

you grow family size tomatoes, lol.
Yeah I don't really know what happened here... It is my first attempt with the Homestead cultivar, the reason for chosing it was its presumable resilience to heat. But the result seems much larger and more strongly ribbed than the photos I've seen. Probably the largest tomato we've grown so far. And they all grow in bags this year due to last year's bad experience with rising groundwater. Imagine it in deep soil.

I picked two zucchini today, and they might be last from my plants. I don't see any more forming, and the plants look wilted by the end of the day, thanks to Squash Vine Borer.

I planted two hills of zucchini in a different place, and in the former garlic bed, I planted collards and chard. IF the critters don't mow it down, there's still time for me to get something.

Squash vine borer...that enemy has not struck here Yet, but every year in the past just wiped my veggie garden out, after 2 squash. Those A$$#OLE$ really tick me off 😠
