What did you do in the garden today?

Haven't been out to the garden yet. Been doing laundry and dishes. Fed and watered the dogs and chickens. Got some chicken wings out for dinner tonight don't know what to make with it yet but oh well I will figure it out later, all of this thinking is giving me a headache 🤣
When you figure it out, let me know.

A friend of mine swears by tilling up the soil in the fall and early spring when there is nothing planted. She says it brings up the grubs and bugs for the wild birds to eat. I can see worth in this, though I don't till my garden hardly ever, so I don't disturb the worms.

My black raspberries have thorns. My blackberries have THORNS!
:gig
No... My wild blackberries have devil's claws that would make the worst demons of hell jealous... Every single part of the plant has countless jagged daggers just begging to eviscerate you....the cane's, the leaves even...and around the fruit itself.

Now that we have a new Kubota tractor, I will probably try to keep the wild blackberries mowed down and let my thornless blackberries spread into a larger area...

felt like 118'F yesterday, and tonight, we dropped to 57'
My tomatoes do NOT like this crap.
It was 120 degrees today... It's still 96 right now. I can't wait for this blessed rain to come through tomorrow...

I chose to pick one of the hottest days to decide to clean out the goat house. I was so filthy and sweaty... But now they have clean, fresh smelling shavings in there and I got a nice shower. We are all happy now.... 😊

Working on breaking my broody 23 week old....

I picked peaches today!

It's so painful to watch my heirloom beans go to seed.... I need the seed for next year's garden, so I only picked a few. Next week I get to pick the first ears of sweet corn!

Starting to get tomatoes every day. Soon I'll be canning them!

Cucumbers are done. The heat and lack of water killed them. I'm going to pull most of them on Thursday.

Good morning gardeners. Thankfully the power cam back on between 10:30 and 11 last night. It was really hot. I ordered a battery operated fan last night. It will arrive later today. I have a bean question, I know @Acre4Me is very knowledgable on this subject. The black turtle beans are really producing a lot. I planned on letting them dry on the bush but I’m concerned about bugs eating them. Should I just pick them and dry in my dehydrator?
