What did you do in the garden today?

Tractor supply had a 50% off clearance yesterday, so a lot of chicken stuff came home. Including a 100$ incubator for 14$.

Today, it's 1pm and dark, cloudy 62 degrees. Yesterday this time it was humid and 92. OC the rain never came. Normal temps this weeks in the 70s.

Harvest will be in full swing, so the pirate bugs will be out biting.

I'm heading back to my studio to work on a 'quick' project before the next tartan run. Momma needs a new scarf to go with her olive jacket/coat.

50 mph winds! Heavy Rain! Thunder!

Still pretty warm out there!

Rain is good for the garden, though! We decided it was indoor chore time when it started to really get going. To our west there was hail too, and one town has a lot of power outages.

Im seeing some fruit trees that could use some trunk support too. Might be picking up a lot of limb spreaders from the ground later.

I picked the last two zucchini squash of the year, pulled up the plants and threw them to the chickens. The vines were starting to die. Maybe I do have squash vine borers here, but I'll never know for sure. I didn't inspect the vines.

I think I'll turn the last of the summer squash into canned zucchini dill pickle chunks.

Woke up a little chilly in the middle of the night, put an extra long t-shirt on & snuggled back into bed. Hey, it dipped into the 50s. Nice! But still very dry here, too. We may see some rain Thurs. but we know how that plays out...might miss us again.

Sure are a lot of crazy wasps & flies plucking my nerves all of a sudden. Stink bugs, too. How do they get into this house?! 😠 So yeah, Now it feels like the cusp of Autumn. 🤣
