What did you do in the garden today?

I just stuck a determinate Roma tomato plant cutting called "Invincible" in pro-mix with a base of water under the pot, but I didn't soak it in water for 3 days before potting it like the last time and found out that I had to cover it with a bucket to bring it back, it almost died on me. I conclude that soaking it in water first for a few days is a mandatory step, otherwise I need to cover it to keep it hydrated.

I am SO MAD! :he

Today and tomorrow are going to be near 70 degrees. It's been so beautiful outside... I wanted to go work out in the garden. Got home from church and while walking to the coops to let everyone out to free range in the sunshine, I fell. Rolled my ankle really hard. Thought maybe I broke it at first but I think it's just badly sprained. I can't put any weight on it at all. 😭

All my plans down the drain.

I used to do that all the time, I was wearing tennis shoes. I started wearing high tops or boots and I haven't since. I had read in the 70s the cloth or leather against the ankle lets you know it's about to happen and the body can react in time.

We got much accomplished today! The poles are set in cement, the last raised bed is built and at least in the general vicinity of where it will go. I planted luffa to grow on the trellis outside the shade garden, put the Jerusalem artichokes in two of the smaller raised beds and Armenian cucumbers and a sunflower in the last one. Also fertilized all the veggies. Tomorrow I plan to divide the succulents to expand their area and decide where to for sure put that last raised bed and the Greenstalk. I’ve got an idea to divide the shade garden so the birds can still go in there but I won’t have to cage each planter. I am pooped, but in a good way. Oh and I decided against transplanting the small chaste tree. It’s on the edge of a compost pile and quite happy. Not going to jinx it.

If these two determinate Red Snapper cuttings were stuck directly in pro-mix with a water base, it would be bent over by now. However, when placed directly in water for a few days it doesn't blink an eye like it doesn't know it's been cut.
I will bring it closer to my grow lights tomorrow and stick them in Pro-mix after 3 days.
