Hard to find information that isn't about opossumsI think if I point a flash light at the possums that come to my garden, they probably show teeth like your possum. We just never get close enough to see much except a quick stared at us and then hurried off.
It is very sad that many of them get killed on the road or bitten by dogs. When I took my dogs for a walk, they found a joe hanging on to its dead mother possum. I took it to the RSPCA wild life secure which happen to be 5 minutes drive from my house. We also got Kangaroos running wild in fear as they walked out of the bushland near by onto the road.

But it seems like they are flesh eaters. Sounds like a full grown standard chock might be too big for them.
