Hey so hot most of us are hiding in the house.

Probably us bulldozing their habitats, dogs, people, disease, climate etc etc ☹ they are very shy.

Our wild Mallards here have been fed by people so much that they will actually lay their eggs in people's flower beds in their front yards. My friends have a Mother Hen lay in the same place in her flower bed every year, then march the babies all the way down their street in a housing development to the retention pond. I was sorry to hear that yours are so shy but I can totally understand that.

Hey so hot most of us are hiding in the house.

I was just able to get my grass mowed and sat out and enjoyed watching my Ducks for a while afterwards. I waited until after 6 pm however as it was still warm but the sun was not as strong. Winter will be here before we know it and I will miss sitting outside and watching them like I can now.

I just cannot handle the heat like i use to either..
Old age will do that. We have temps in the 90's this week.

I totally get that. We have a meeting next Friday and we all have to ride the bus to it. It will be in the 90's and I can hardly wait!!! LOL Talk about a bunch of sweaty bus drivers!!!

Boy, youll be empathetic with the kids you drive. Think you should all get unruly, scream and throw food at the driver so he/she has to pull over or call your moms to come pick you up. just for fun.

Actually last year when we had to do that we had a new boss and half of the drivers were absolutely terrible!!! They needed written up and thrown off the bus. lol They had taken our Middle School Principal and gave him the job of being our Boss. I told him as I was getting off the bus that they had thrown him to the wolves! lol He survived the school year and was back this year. I always tell my coworkers that the reason we are in the front seat is because we are the worse ones on the bus. lol

I got my new babies today!!! They are just so small! And to be honest there is one that is just so tiny. I got 6 French Black Marans. I only ordered 4 girls and 1 boy but there is an extra. They marked the boy for me. But the extra could be either I guess. And he is so obvious, just looks so much different than the rest. It wasn’t until after I said “I bet that is the boy” that I picked him up and there was the marking. Didn’t even know they would do that!

2 of them had a rough start but are doing great now!

Aloha kids,
I woke up at 2am and have been thumbing through byc the last hour. Cats have me outnumbered on my little bed so I'm just gunna give up on sleep for a bit. They also stole my blanket and jacket... if they follow me to my chair, I'm gunna run back to the bed lol. It is chilly.

I need a pipe wrench and possibly a vise to fix my sprinkler. So gotta take it down the mountain when I go down. That and a Sawzall to finish off the tree I started but found a heavy gauged wire buried deep in the trunk. Don't want to ruin my chainsaw blade any further than I already have. Ugh things move slowly up here. But did rake and pick up a small mountain of pine cones and needles, over 1/2 way done with that chore. That looks so beautiful . I normally take the kids camping in the mountains every year and the pictures of your mountain hide away remind me of that. Think we're going to try to fit that in again this year.

Where are you at? We are eating the vegetables out of our garden at this point in time and you are just starting to plant. Our cucumbers are huge and we are enjoying them.

Arizona here...same as @TropicalBabies for gardening...my gardening season starts in August.

Good morning, No tomato here yet plants where stunted had way too much rain this spring .. Everything is like a month behind.
My blasted broccoli and cauliflower is bolted already.

Speaking of ducks...today I started work on the ducks soon to be new home. It's an old old pallet wood coop and run and needs some serious work. I built it over ten years ago. But I got all the chicken stuff pulled out and now have a large pile of really old wood. I took the door off and rehung it straight again and started adding some of the old wood back in where the coop came out. It won't be pretty...but it'll be functional. I think the ducks will like it when I'm done.

The front area next to the door might need some more thought. I kept the water bowls there and years of dumping and rinsing water bowls has made the ground sink. That's why the door was crooked. It doesn't show from outside because there's a pomegranate in front of it and vines. I hate to pull it apart completely, and hate to pull the vines... definitely won't move the pomegranate! But think I need to do something more there. Can't really do much though unless I pull the vines. I'll think of something.

I dug up some cat claw tubers though and potted them up. I know I need more of them already anyways.

I'm exhausted but in the best kind of way .
