Had two grandsons spend the night Thursday night so mom n dad could enjoy cracker barrel turkey dinner only served on Thursdays then they decided to not go...preggo cravings - real thang!
So I began yesterday pooped!
But dug in to makin pumpkin pancakes from scratch!
I rearranged the run last night as I was tucking em all into bed so they been real busy this morning! Hardly any crowing at all!!!
Definitely not gonna use the basket box I have used previously as they are picking the baskets a part lol!
So gonna go in a hunt hopefully this AM for the old timey vintage nest box!!!

good job you! I really want a camera for my chicken coop so I can do a little science study on them, but those are so expensive!

My Granny was amazing! I regret not appreciating her as much as I should have growing up! Everytime I touch the tomato plants I'm reminded of her going to the garden before we'd ever even get up (when we would spend the night) and her coming back taking her wet shoes off and her wrinkled ole feet and the dish tub full of veges she had grown down in the holler. I have that dish tub now!!! Though my garden has yet to produce that much at one time to get much use out of it yet! I sure miss her and her Jesus luvin heart!!!

DH finished another stand and I finished 11 more bags. So, there is that.

kids had a bye weekend for soccer so I got to be lazy and sleep in!

Oh those are nice dreamy days for sure! I remember whenever we'd get those days how precious they truly were!

A day late but yestereday I decided to de-junk up the weeds and leaves in front of and on one side of the coop. Looks so much nicer I will probably keep going. We put our hoop coop in the woods in the back of the house. Apparently nothing has lived/used the area ever. There are these thin vines that trip me up; ughhh. I'm gonna get 'em though. I just may paint the door of the coop too. Actually hubby sprayed one coat; it looks hideous but I am thinking additional coats may be cool.

I was going for the cute look I see other chickeners have with the bird sitting there all nicely. I told hubby looks like you are strangling here, geeez. Anywho, one day I will have cute chicken poses like yaw'll. Just not yesterday.

Chickens don’t like to cooperate for pictures very often I too, like all pictures of chickens, don’t need them to be fancy they look like sweet and beautiful chickens!

I spent some time today with my sweet Penny Pot. She watched football with me while the kids read their books. She’s just the sweetest girl that would be content to sit on me or near me all day if I let her!

Fed and watered everyone but was pretty lazy otherwise—kids had a bye weekend for soccer so I got to be lazy and sleep in! Also got all of my shipped eggs properly labeled and candled to mark air cells and turned on the turner after two days of rest. Very happy with the air cells and condition of the eggs so fingers crossed I get at least 3-4 to hatch!

Also I just had to share this silly picture of my chickens in their coop tonight. All the dark spots are feathers not tons of poop I swear My OCD can’t handle their lack of distribution across the roosts!!

YouTube has a lot of videos on them. I did a tutorial many pages back. I think the uź tube is the best way to go.

Went to let the chickens out and the cockerel came out first. Which he has been trying to establish with the girls for a long time now. And they did not want to leave the coop. I even opened my door for them. Finally Lilo, my brown leghorn, comes out. He grabs her neck feathers and she squats down for him. He tried a few others cause after that they all came out. But he didn’t try as hard as he normally does. So maybe he will relax some now that some girls are ready. We are going to put the top on for the nest boxes, which we haven’t done yet. We put it together and left that as it was because we needed them in there and it was going to be a while before we needed it on there. And hopefully we will be working on the duck coop today was well.

Also while out in the coop today, I opened the door and one hen runs out before I could get the door shut. So I opened it to get her back in and more come out. It took a while to get them back in but I got it.
