Well, we're safely home. We got in late last night. It is good to be home!
My house is thick with dust, two of my doves died and two chickens while I was gone. I lost Lunatwo and Lunatoc, Marshmellow and Granny Weatherwax. I checked everyone by flashlight last night and saw the doves cage had almost no food at all. I'm so so sad about the doves. They're the gentlest soul's. My friend had called and told me when it happened and I refused to think about it, but now I'm home and can process it. Granny and Marshmallow were old...granny was ancient and Marshmallow was nearly featherless and deeply tired when I got him. He looked fully recovered, but I'm not shocked by him passing. But the doves!
Ugh.
I made a map showing every animal and food store, water, plants etc. But it is a lot of daily work and I was gone a long time. He forgot them once too often.
Anyways...I know my friend tried hard and overall everything looks good.
And Schultz is alive and looks well...he was the one I was worried about.
A lady who bought some birds from me before called while I was gone and wants more birds. So I set up the incubator last night and brought in something like 16 eggs from one of the coops. But the humidity wasn't rising so I plugged in the other incubator and will have to take a closer look at the one.
Hubby was flooding the indoor pond while I was gone and not noticing so there's some bad damage to our floor. Poor hubby was trying to be helpful and refilled it this morning before work...I walked past the giant spreading puddle and thought omg...lol.
Our duck Peeky decided a late in the year nest would be a good idea so she's gone broody...no idea how many eggs she has under her but boy she looks happy
Todays going to be busy busy busy. I have tons of pictures to share but haven't really looked at them myself yet. We had a problem with my oldests 14 yr old dog while we were at Mammoth Lake, so we never actually made it into Yosemite Valley.

On the good side, they have an amazing vet in Mammoth and Billy is just fine now. I had no idea that the change in altitude can be hard on old dogs. He had four seizures on Sunday and we thought for sure we were going to lose him. We're all so happy he's ok and waggy tailed again.
Heres my youngest playing monkey in the forest at Mammoth.
