What did you do with your flock today?

Special day!!! Heard some chirping that sounded younger than my chicks.... could it be broody momster on the roof clutch has hatched???!!! Yep.View attachment 3595193
After getting full on attacked by that momster, I was able to get food and water up to her. Babies were not going to come down yet, or, if they did it would lead to injury or worse. It is a hard living up here and most moms don't get large hatches. She has the benefit of.... well, a chicken servant.View attachment 3595186
She calmed quickly with a bite to eat and assembled her clutch.
Now, it is time for @kurby22 's favorite game...!
Awwww beebies! She’s a smart momma camping out by you! Also great at camouflage 😆 I had to zoom in to find her…I’m hopeless 😆

Other than being attacked by a momster... all is good up here. Extra nice after a few wet days, all is clean and fresh and bright and still cool 👍👍👍 Flock says aloha!

My littles are curious as to what all the ruckus is about.

My little troublemakers ♡

Today I spent several hours searching every nook and cranny for a missing hen. There's no evidence of fowl play, we think she's gone broody. She's a Millie Fleur and she likes to explore nooks and crannies. She'll probably show up in a few weeks with a Troup of mini-me's.

I also dug into my worm bin and treated the girls to some giant meal worms.

I gave my new 7 week old chicks a good once over. It looks like my red Silkie roo has been busy. Atleast 7 of the 16 are his. He strolls my garden all day, looking lonely and forlorn. I got 7 red chicks with newly formed mowhawks that beg to differ. Of the 16, it looks like I lucked out and only 5-6 are roosters. Gorgeous Silchin roosters that I should have no problem finding homes for.

I watched the chickens play.

Update: My husband found the missing Millie Fleur running back and forth on the wrong side of the fence. She fed, watered and back with her clique.
