I did show jumping growing up, then dressage. I miss both, I'm not riding right now.

He’s lovely. That’s great your taking some time to get to know him, I was the same with my horse till a few months ago when we went into lockdown. I realised I had extra time so I started riding daily and my bond with him really showedI’m an eventer however I’ve taken a break from shows these past couple years. With everything going on it’s more difficult to ride and that’s sad. But I’m trying to focus on Storm and I and our relationship as friends and not business partners as we have been in the past. We’re learning to have fun together and if that means no shows that’s fine. We did really well in shows and Storm is quite the talented horse (mom bragging). He loves to go out in the cross country field and run. He’s also quite the personality. And guard dog. He’s turned very territorial and will chase off any unwanted visitors like strange dogs or coyotes.

Wow. I would post some images of my first pony but they have me in them and Mum would hate thatNot as a minor, my parents leased the show jumper for me, but I bought a horse as a graduation present for myself when I finished undergrad. He was an Anglo-Arab trail horse, the only horse I ever owned, a big, beautiful gray who loved to run, we used to gallop through canyons and along the beach. He was one of those horses who is so intuitive he knew what I wanted before I did. He loved everything and everyone and would do anything for a bite of a banana. He was bombproof. I miss him very much. I did dressage much later in life, again on a leased horse, a dashingly handsome, scopey Oldenburg who also loved jumping. Gosh now I feel all nostalgic. ☺
