they sound great Lurky but I have standards in the main run and am probably looking for standard eggs only. I eat LOTS of eggs and have tons of friends who want big eggs which is why i thought the delawares and australorps would be gooduns.

Well...the australorp i speak of is a standard. I have 2 and one is the biggest chicken i have. But if you think that the banty roo will effect the size, that ok. I just thought i'd tell ya since i am not too far from ya.

i wonder what kind of mutts i will get? I have buff laced polish , ameraucana and RIR roos and all kind of pullets ( rir, riw, ameraucana, white cochin, SS hamburg, salmon favs, red sex links, barred rock/production blacks, frizzle cochins..all sorts. I also have some ducks ( white crested and rouens) which are starting to mate so i hope they will give me some babies too.

Wow, that a good variety........Probably get some interesting chicks. Are you going to let them hatch if they go broody on ya? Might have to extend the run LOL

HEY.. I would love to get in on a egg swap

next spring I will have:
Phoenix.. silver blonde mahoganey blue, bbr's, golden and birchen (all colors possible as they are housed together)
standard or giant cochins, black, blue, buff, red, white, golden laced, silver laced, barred (white/black) barred (black/brown).. the cochins will all be housed by color
Jersey Giants in black
Pheasants, red golden, yellow golden, silver, lady amherst, dark throated, hybrids, and maybe some revees (hubby is looking to purchase a couple pair :O)..

I would definitely be up for this. I have barred rocks, buff orpingtons, white rocks, red sex links, and Americaunas. I have the matching rooster for all but the Americauna hens who will have absolutely nothing to do with the other roosters anyway.

All of my hens are young, 6-7 months old, and very healthy.

If anyone has a nice Americauna roo to give away, please let me know.

I may actually have some fertilized eggs and/or chicks to sell within the next month or so. If anyone is interested, please let me know what you'd like and how many.

Thanks!

I'd love to join in too. I have Delawares, Speckled Sussex, Seramas and Silkies. None of them are laying yet but will be by spring.

If anyone is interested I put together a list of who has what. I can post it if anyone would like.

I'd be interested, too! I didn't even read this thread because my girls I'm waiting for my first egg, but glad to see I'm not the only one! So count me in.

The only pures I'll have are the Blue Splash d'Anvers. I think he's the only roo I have. Not even sure the poor little guy will be able to mate with the full size ladies. Hmm.. not sure how that would work, unless someone wanted me to send the d'Anvers eggs in batches, since I only have one hen.
We'll see though, I'd still like to hatch a few out this winter.
