What do you all do for kid's school lunches?

We do school lunch at $1.10 . My kids are picky and it forces them to try new things instead of peanut butter everyday.

I'm homeschooled but I work at the barn during the day and I'll be spending the summer as a camp consoler so I have bring my lunch then.

Things I like in my lunches -

PBJ sandwiches
hot air popcorn
salads
rice
mashed potatos
corn
fresh fruit
raw veggies
pb crackers
cereal w/ soymilk

I know there's more but I just can't think of it....

$4.25??!!??!! Is that public school or private? We had considered moving to Marion County but if that is indicative of the food prices, we wouldn't be able to afford to eat!!

Our school lunches are $2.75 and i thought that was high!!!

My son does occasionally have hot lunch but not all the time.

It depends on my dd's mood wether she has school lunch or home lunch. Here they get a choice in lunch, there is a hot meal or a cold/salad meal. She usually eats the salad or sandwich lunch unless the hot lunch is pizza or tacos or nachos, etc.

On the days when the lunch options are 'gross' (her words not mine) she tends to take a lunch. Lunch ranges from something we had left over from supper - soup, stuffed twice baked potatoes, etc or sandwich, salad, fruit. Simple lunches. Cheese, crackers and fruit is always a big hit for her lunches.
