I have a flock of 50 now (roosters and chicks included) but there's quite a bit of hens that are laying. We're giving them to our neighbours as a "thanks for putting up with the noisy roosters" gift. I also bake a lot so I use a lot of eggs for that. People really appreciate fresh eggs and they really like all the pretty colours too! Sometimes we've brought a few dozen to church and just handed them out to everyone! ;)

There are also different regulations in every state for selling them, although a lot of people selling them are doing it “ under the table” as you said it can spell big trouble of the wrong person gets sick.
Thats why you need to look up the Regs... In California there is a goverment site for all the regs and you can drill down to chicken eggs.... LOL.

One of the places I get emails from said if you rub them with baby oil they'll not spoil, even un-refrigerated. It seems to work, which is a good thing for me, as I have nowhere else to put them.
Firstly, do not use "baby oil"!! Almost all of it is scented for one thing and most of it has other ingredients in it. If you are going to try this, use Mineral Oil. Google Mineral Oil eggs and there are plenty of posts on it. For long term storage the posts also say that you still need to refrigerate them. Mineral oil is a petroleum product and there is information stating that it also causes Estrogen issues in women ...

Tea Eggs?

Yes. I cannot copy on my kindle but you can google them. Basically you make a strong tea with chinese spices. Then you roll hard boiled eggs to crack the shells thoroughly and soak them in the tea mixture. The longer they soak the deeper the flavor. When you take them out and remove the shells they are various shades of tea marbled on the white. Very pretty.

I knew a guy once who upon hearing about how the Indians taught the Pilgrims to put a fish by each corn seed planted to fertilize it, decided to give it a try. He lived right by a small creek that had plenty of suckers and chubs, so he sat out minnow traps, and put a small fish in each hole then planted corn. Four long rows. I don't know what deer thought about this, but within a week, coons, possum, cats, skunks, dogs, foxes, etc had dug up every fish he burried, and the corn kernel right by it.
Sounds like what would happen. Blood meal repels deer somewhat, but every other critter loves it. Anytime I buy a bag, I find it busted open. I think the egg based repellents have to use rotten eggs, or it rots after spraying. There are recipes online.

It isn't necessary to cover them with baby oil, vegetable oil or anything else as long as they aren't washed they will keep unrefrigerated for a month or longer at room temperature, assuming it isn't really hot.

EASY GUACAMOLE DEVILED EGGS

1 avocado
6 hardboiled eggs
1 lime

fresh cilantro
sea salt
pepper

Mash avocado and hard boiled eggs together. Add fresh lime juice, cilantro, salt and pepper!:thumbsup:p
Wow, no mayo needed. Gonna make this for Mama with Alzheimer's, who can barely eat. And me, of course. Avocados went from the "you should never eat this" list to the powerfoods list, just like eggs. Now fat's good (some). I'm waiting for sugar to get on the good list. Well, beets are there, and sugar is in them.

My intention is to start selling them, but the reality is I end up giving most of them away because my family doesn't eat breakfast and we do a lot of grilling out for dinner, so we don't have much call for baked goods or other cooked things that call for eggs. I should really bake cakes and breads, but I don't. :p
Why do you have so many chickens if you don't even have a need for the eggs? Maybe you should consider reducing your flock.
