Just leave your computer screen dirty, like mine is, and then the bright white is not so bright.

I spend an hour trying to log in--very frustrating. Asked for email with new code. Nothing. GOt other emails but not from BYC.

I'm finding the new BYC difficult and had a headache within 15 minutes. THe fonts are not easy to read; I did not join other forums for the same reason. Learning new is difficult for me, goodness knows how long it took to sort of master the the old set up.

I never had to log in before--and I couldn't see the button as I have an old square monitor. Don't see the sense in adding to the trash heap if this monitor works fine. I used to be automatically logged in. Will see if my PC will make it automatic now.

THe fonts and the gray tones are my biggest problem. Not easy to read.

With dial up took forever to get the smilieies to load. :( is faster. :)

WIll try to read and post now and then and see if it gets easier . . . .fonts seem to be easier loogin in than not logged in. Will look around a bit. Feel very lost.

Admin--I know you work hard. Your efforts are applauded.
you should be able to remain logged in now. I think it was just an innitial re-log in for the new site

So far, I do not like it. It uses up a LOT more of my system's resources. Not everybody out here has the latest computers, ya know. Some of us are just average folks. It has significantly slowed down my machine, and I have already discovered I cannot work in another window while on BYC. I will probably spend less time on the site now. A lot less.

That may actually make some people pretty happy. LOL. (Namely my boss hehehe... because now with all the graphics and little what-nots on the site, I can't be on BYC at the same time I'm doing my job... already froze up my computer earlier & I had to reboot and lost a report I had to retype.)

Since I'm on BYC so much during the work day, I'll probably only be on it now at night (or on work breaks when I have all the other windows on the computer closed).

If I had a say-so (and I know I do not), I would say please please PLEASE decrease some of the graphics and other little features that are eating up so much memory... I keep getting a Norton pop-up message that says it's using up all my system resources. That never happened on the old site.

I was really excited about the upgrade, and now I am completely bummed. BYC was my favorite site/forum.

The operative word here being "was". :(

I'm going to miss all the "banter" and excitement on the big auctions.

It's not an auction if all bids have to be visible. No longer will someone be able to put a max bid of 80$ and then let everyone else bid up to them. You're asking people to 'post a bid' of 1$ at a time in the hopes that they don't drain their pocketbook.

Remember the old bidding parties for the big auctions? Everyone posting and joking and watching the bidding go up? That was a HUGE aspect of the site!

the more i hang out the more i am in LOVE

I am not going to be achieving ANYTHING at work tonight, lol. hopefully my new iphone update will make it more fun too

I do think its sad that we have resorted to nit-picking and insulting the people who run this place. theyre doing the best they can to support all of the members.
even if people are inactive they ARE members and there isnt anything anyone can do about it. An upgrade was needed to support the copious amount of activity that does take place everyday.

im really surprised and disappointed how some people who have been around for ages and love this COMMUNITY are being so nasty about the change. i mean, isnt it more about the COMMUNITY and less about the website? it is to me. The last website was very flawed but we got used to those flaws and regarded them as the norm and loved the site anyway. Give this a chance and within the next year i bet it will be exactly the same.

being upset because something hurts your eyes and causes a headache isnt nitpicking and it isnt what im talking about.

you know what nitpicking is. i wasnt talking to you.

But peope ARE entitled to their opinions...
Just like you were entitled to your opinion when you fist said that you didnt like it either. Now you have changed your mind... good for you. But do we all have to be like you?
Personally, i dont like it either, because its too jumbled and crowded... to many things going on at once to follow..
But i'll get used to, as we all will... doesnt mean we cant have an opinion about it, especially us long term members.. that have supported BYC for many years.
But i've already told Nifty that when i was invited preview it in the sandbox a while back...
he respected our opinions, shouldnt you?

I'm okay with most of the changes here. I don't like how our siggys are grey and hard to read. Bummer about that. The other thing I am really missing is the Picture of the Week. Where is it?? Who will be next? That was part of the fun, too! Everyone wanted their picture to be picked and each week it was exciting to see what picture got selected. Did it get relocated? I wish it were back on the homepage again. =( Also... not sure I like the reviews on the right hand side. Maybe that will take some getting used to. But otherwise, once I figured out how to do pictures, uploads, etc... all of that is fine. Posting is working well and I like that we have more options in our posts.

It is hard to find the threads on which one has posted. Don't like that the photo albums are public and seem open to public comments? Perhaps I am mistaken about that.

Think too much changed too quickly. Doesn't seem as friendly a format. Harder to navigate and find things.
