What do you think of the new BYC platform?

I updated firefox (one of the projected problems) to the most recent version, and the forum is still running slower than crystallized honey. BUT it isn't my internet, because BYH and ever other website is working great! And why the frak doesn't it let me use firefox's spell check? Seriously, if I use the right click over the word needing fixed (as done in FF), it pulls up 'paste' with this new forum software. No, I want to spellcheck when I right click, not paste darnit. I hate how this new format overrides the normal browser tasks.

Still with Gritstar's opinion many posts back, hate it will a passion. Might go find another chicken based forum if the bugs aren't fixed. Seriously, the issues are worse than a brand new game release where they hurry release and just patch problems later.

If you hold the ctrl button and right click the firefox spell check will work

I posted earlier but i am finding that the more time I spend looking around the more irritated I get.

I think there are a lot of unneeded things on the right side.for instance why in this thread are breed pages listed with recent reviews? It takes up too much space and IMO has no place there. At a point it goes away and I get the threads back full screen.

I will not vote for a few days but I see myself not visiting as much in the future. I suppose it's a good thing as I was spending most of my day here. That isn't going to happen much anymore. Maybe I will get some other stuff done now

Another issue I am having is some of the condescending tones taken with those who aren't liking the new system. We're allowed to have our opinions, thank you! But we're constantly being reminded that it was such hard work so we should be appreciative, and shame on us if we aren't happy with the change. Well, to me, it seems like they were working harder not smarter when this format was implemented.

I didn't read the whole thread. Is it possible to make it optional to view the reviews on the side of the screen? I understand having to have a few ads here and there for nonpaying members. It would probably be really helpful for people if they could turn off the sidebar.

I like the look, but it will take me some time to figure it all out. I must say the photos are really neat to look at now, they are so much larger and clearer.

I believe right now it's set to GFM's and PPM's having that ability. You go to your profile, click edit account details then select Hide right column in forum threads.

We can't please everyone. The fact is some things CANNOT be changed no matter how much any of us want them. This move was necessary and there was a LOT of research done before the decision was made. Just because your request isn't granted, doesn't mean you are being ignored.

the reason this was needed was because we were taking up to much space right?... well why not delete crap that does not need to be there.. when someone has not posted in 5+ years bye-bye.. old locked posts... the games section is way out of control .. old threads that have not been used in 5 years bye bye....

I am sure there were more reasons but this is just crap!
