I use an 11 gallon food grade water barrel and a gravity fed automatic drinker. Only have to fill water once every one to two weeks. I have one in the coop, and one in the run. Apple cider vinegar keeps the water clean, help rid the girls of parasites and keeps their guts in good condition. Set it on a brick and forget it. They can't fall in, they can't waste it or poo in it.
