White millett; hands down. I think its like a little chocolate treat for them. Mine liked tomatos too, so if you're having a garden, don't get them started on tomatos!

The next year they went in to the vegetable garden and helped themselves to all of the stuff they had gotten as scraps. And yes, those powerful beaks opened up most of his melons.

I never thought about it being a problem to find; our feed store always has it in bulk. If you can't find it, the wild bird feed is almost as good; they pick through it to find the millett and begrudgingly eat the rest.
Mine like BOSS and scratch the best.
White Millet, mine will run you over for it.

My local farm store has a parakeet mix that is mostly white millet.

So Wal Mart might have some? I have some Parakeet food for my quail and I tryed to feed some to the guineas and they gave me that "Are you trying to murder me?" look!
