What does a coturnix egg weigh?

I recently got a couple dozen coturnix hatching eggs, but they look quite large to me. Can anyone tell me what the avg weight of a regular sized coturnix egg would be? Do the Jumbo coturnix lay a larger egg?

My chart of egg weights says to figure 9 grams for a quail egg. That's about average for those I"ve had, too, though I've had some monstrous ones that weight much more and of course those that weigh a bit less.

I compared bunch of quail coturnix jumbo eggs ( but do not pay too much attention to "jumbo"or not jumbo since they all very day by day, hen by hen) to chicken large eggs each pretty close to 3 oz.

It takes 4 to 5 coturnix to equal 1 large chicken egg by weigh.

So 3 oz equals about 85 grams, then you have coturnix eggs varying from 17 g to 21 g a piece depending on size.

I take 15 coturnix eggs to make me scrambled breakfast eggs.

I've gotten a lot of large, double yolk eggs from hens that just started laying. ( It sounds funny to call any quail eggs "large") My eggs vary in size greatly. I'm getting one and a half to two dozen most days.

10 average size coturnix eggs weighs around 4 oz.. So my best guess is somewhere between .35 and .40+ oz.. Yes you can get monster size eggs (Usually double yolk) and jelly bean (Starter) eggs from time to time, but after the hens mature, they will lay pretty constant weight eggs.

The larger the hen, the larger the egg, usually, but don't count on it

I have hatched some very large birds from some very average/smallish eggs.

My bobwhites started laying and the eggs are smaller than the coturnix eggs. Each bob egg weighs 9 grams. The cotunix eggs are about 12-14 grams.
Is this typical?

I have been weighing both our chicken eggs and quail eggs before incubation for the past few weeks.
Our barred rock and rhode island hens eggs vary from 55-65 grams, weighed about 30 of them.
The last ~20 Coturnix Quail eggs are averaging around 10.5 grams, my biggest quail hen is ~250 grams, she is white and we suspect A&M.
we also have what I was told is an Italian trio, now I am thinking politiquail correct term is manchurian? they are younger and smaller in size, but laying exact same size eggs as the white gals.
my simple observations, very new to Quail.
