It's fun reading an old thread you made back when you were mostly clueless about chickens. It's been nearly eight years since I started it, and it appears after ten years of hanging out with chickens and chicken people on BYC, I've managed to learn one or two things.
The subject of this thread died in her sleep a few weeks ago at age nine after never being sick a day in her life and laying eggs up until a year ago. She died of salpingitis but was only noticeably sick for a week or so. I'd say she had pretty good genes and a good life.
