Those look like excess coating pigment.
Yes, sometimes they can be 'scrubbed/scraped' off.
'Speckled' eggs can happen for several different reasons...very few, if any, of which are a 'problem'.
Can be caused by:
Excess or uneven pigment coating.
Excess or uneven cuticle(bloom).
Excess calcium deposits.
Porous eggs can appear speckled.
Some birds lay them consistently, some only once in awhile.
The pigment or bloom can change appearance when wet, then change back when dry again.
As long as bird is getting a good diet and is healthy in every other way, it is no cause for concern.
They currently eat hen layer food, 1 cap full of ac vinegar per gallon of water with oyster shells in a separate container and scratch grain. Ive also noticed a few of them lately break at nothing. What does that mean. I thought it was excess calcium but why would the eggs break so easy?
They break because of not enough calcium. They shouldn't be eating chick food now. They should be eating a good grade of layer pellets. Mine don't like the oyster shell bits. I take the food and add water to make a wet mush like oatmeal once a week ... maybe twice. I add in several tablespoons of cayenne pepper and a half cup of the oyster shell/calcium. They tear into this and clean the plate. No issues with weak shells.
