My Buff Orpingtons don't always sing an egg song after they have laid an egg. Often they just get up and walk away. But if my white, mixed breed hen wants to lay and there is someone else sitting on the nest she wants to use, she will start to sing. It's like she is saying, "Hurry up, I got to go too."
