what gender and feather pattern is this EE?

I'm gonna bet he's a cockerel. Parentage is basically impossible to guess without a group of breeds to select from. Like others have said theres no standard or varieties for EE's but white/grey leakage would be fine, it looks a little like columbian patterning but not entirely so ehh? Can't wait to see what he looks like, and make sure like tohers have said to get him some friends!!

hehe thank you! and yes he’s got some girlfriends coming in the spring. though one of my neighbors girls consistently stays in our coop so we joke that we have split custody of a chicken. she’s a bit mean though

here’s an update for you!! so the kind internet people of BYC determined georgie has a cushion comb which is why it’s so small and flat even tho everything else seems to say boy! also shortly after this post i found georgie a mail order bride on craigslist under chicken seeking chicken (that’s a joke) but they’re the same age, she hatched a day before he did and they’re such a sweet pair.

He is such a handsome chicken! I had a chick with an EE mom (pea comb) and a mutt (Dominque mutt with modified rose comb) dad. She came out with a cushion comb. It was fun to see some folks' guesses, because my girl's cushion comb looked huge too, but she's definitely a she as she is now laying. I'll attached pics of the chicks when they were around 10 weeks old. The barred chick was the only one whose mom was a brahma, the other three came from the EE. So much comb variety! The only one that wound up with puffy cheeks and an actual pea comb was sadly a boy so we ate him

oh my gosh thank you!! i still haven’t felt 100% sure but i was really hoping Georgie was a George since he was a single chick and now very sociable and cuddly. hoping it stays that way!
so funny bc he kicked his way out of the shell in like 45 mins and i just knew he was a boy when i saw him

i had no idea cushion combs were a thing! so it was a very interesting journey when people were telling me he was a she bc the lack of a comb but i was sure! just based on personality and then how much bigger he was than sophie. i’ve discovered my love of the crazy mixes lately but have 6 standard breed chicks coming in about a month and i have a tiny bit of regret LOL.
