What Gender? and supposed to be Barred Rock could be mixed Breed .

Here he/she is at 5 weeks still acting like a rooster chest bumping with the white one pouncing on it constantly to the point i can hardly pick it up . I thought they could both be roosters but i also read hens display this behavior at this age . I believe the white one could be a splash orpington? based on the eggs i bought . I am still on the shelf about the Barred Rock .

Sorry, but these both appear to be cockerels. That’s a lot of comb for 5 weeks of age. Early wattle development is also a sign.

Hope he will recover!

He did Recover !!! 2 weeks away from the chicks and with me nutra drench , Metacam he is as good as new.

So Sad they are both Beautiful but i will have to keep Bully who had the slip tendons we bonded . The white one is gorgeous but they are fighting already can you imagine in 4 more months
