What hatcheries ship year round?

Are they a hatchery? They have a nice website, but I can't find anything that says they hatch. It looks like they sell for others and have them drop shipped. I would love to know more about them.

Anyway, probably not a good fit for the OP, since MPC shows ALL of the breeds as 'SOLD OUT'.

Go under day old baby chicks? They have almost every breed you can imagine (in spring, summer and fall) and a ton of hatching eggs. It's a BYC sponsor and the minimum order is only three.

I see you are in New Mexico, you might try calling Privett Hatchery - http://www.privetthatchery.com/Home/ContactUs.aspx . I have heard A LOT of good reports about them, but their website is clunky and uninformative. It does not say if they hatch year round or not. They do not have a pullet assortment listed, I wrote to them and asked about one, but have not heard back yet.

Someone on here said Privett drop shipped for Ideal when they had ordered from Ideal, their order was shipped from Privett. That post is here - https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5284404#p5284404

I hear good and bad about all of the hatcheries, but my experience with Ideal has always been good. Not just the orders recently, but orders from them as a kid, all good!

I haven't looked too recently, but MPC had a fire (I believe in their shipping area) several months ago and had marked everything "Sold Out" until they could recover from that fire. I have them on Facebook, as they said they will let everyone there know when they are able to ship chicks and such again.

I'm waiting anxiously for the snow to subside so I can build my coop (renovate an old shed) and a run...then it's off to find chicks! I don't want chicks before I have somewhere for them to live!

I don't think MPC actually hatches the chicks. I have ordered from them twice and been very happy, but the chicks are shipped from an Ohio zipcode - not the location of their office. I think I read somewhere that their chicks come from Meyer - which is in Ohio. I don't know if that is true or not.

You can also try craigslist for chickens. I know even up here in NW WI there is ads for baby chicks and started pullets this time of year.

Just an idea.

I am close to Strombergs, and ordered my 100 pheasant chicks through them last spring. All arrived healthy and I didnt have any losses until the pecking started.
All of their chick orders include shipping in the price, so that is nice. I will probably be ordering some guineas from them this spring as well.

About how old were the pullets they shipped you? Were they laying? Or just about to? how many different breeds do you think you got in your pullet order?

I got 1-day-old chicks on December 2nd. They will be laying in late May/early June. Their mamas must be good layers to be laying in December!

I got 5 Black Australorps, 6 New Hampshire reds, 4 brown Leghorns, 1 Barred Rock, 3 black sex links, 2 RIRs, 4 silver laced Wyandottes which is a terrific mix for a 25 pullet bargain order! I have all but 5 sold, which pays for the chicks and feed and I get to keep some!

I just ordered 25 more yesterday! I needed a little pick-me-up after a failed hatch! I love chick watching!
